A night out moves fast. Plans change, groups split, phones die, and the energy of a venue makes it nearly impossible to keep tabs on everyone. Night Out Mode is Obserc’s answer to all of that — a dedicated safety layer that activates for the duration of your night and wraps your entire squad in real-time awareness.
Here’s a full breakdown of everything Night Out Mode does, from the moment you activate it to the report you wake up to the next morning.
Setting Up Your Wingman
Before you head out, you designate a Wingman — one person in your Circle who takes on an elevated role for the night. Your Wingman gets more granular notifications, sees your location updates in real time, and is the first person alerted if anything feels off. Think of them as your dedicated safety anchor for the evening.
Setting up your Wingman takes about ten seconds: open Night Out Mode, tap “Set Wingman,” choose someone from your Circle, and confirm. They get a notification letting them know you’ve put your trust in them for the night.
Squad Monitoring in Real Time
Once Night Out Mode is active, every member of your squad who has joined the session appears on a shared dashboard. You can see who’s where, who’s checked in recently, and who might have drifted out of range. There’s no need to send the “where are you??” message — the app already knows, and shows you clearly.
“No more ‘where are you??’ texts. Night Out Mode already knows — and shows you clearly.”
Find My Squad
Lost your friends in a crowded venue? Find My Squad activates a live radar view showing the exact location of everyone in your active Night Out session. Even in a festival or club where it’s impossible to communicate by voice, you can navigate directly to your group without a single message exchanged.
I Feel Off Button
Not feeling great but not ready to leave? Tap "I Feel Off" to silently alert your Wingman and Circle that you might need attention — no explanation required.
Safety Call
Need to exit an uncomfortable situation? Safety Call triggers a realistic fake incoming call so you can step away naturally, without awkwardness.
SOS Beacon
Tap once for a standard SOS to your Circle. Hold for 3 seconds to trigger a Critical SOS to your emergency contacts — with live location attached.
Live Location
Your Wingman and squad see your location updating in real time throughout the night, so there’s always someone who knows where you are.
The I Feel Off Button
Sometimes something feels wrong before you can name it. I Feel Off is designed for exactly that moment — a single tap that sends a discreet alert to your Wingman and Circle that you’re not quite right. No 999 call, no dramatic SOS — just a gentle signal that says “keep an eye on me.”
Your Wingman will receive a notification and can check in with a message or call. The button is intentionally low-commitment, because the barrier to using it needs to be as low as possible when you’re in a noisy bar at 1am.
Safety Call
Safety Call is one of Night Out Mode’s most quietly powerful features. Tap it and your phone simulates a realistic incoming call — complete with a name and ringtone — giving you a socially accepted reason to step away from any situation that feels uncomfortable. It’s the fake phone call you always wished you could make, built right into the app.
Morning After Report
When Night Out Mode winds down (either manually, or after a set time), Obserc generates a Morning After Report — a complete timeline of your night. Where you went, when you arrived, who was with you at each point, and how the squad moved through the evening.
It’s part peace-of-mind check, part fond memory. You can share it with your squad or keep it private. Either way, you wake up knowing exactly what happened — even if you don’t quite remember it all yourself.
